DEAD HEAD are Dutch veterans who’ve been in the business since 1989. Despite the passage of decades, the band has not disintegrate and still performs today with three-quarters of its original line-up.

With over 7 albums, Dead Head is hold with high esteem within the Dutch Thrashmetal scene. They just released their 8th studio album called ‘Shadow of Soul’, combining the best elements of death and trash metal. They kicked off the night with their crushingly metal sound making it clear that they were more than worthy to be the support act of the night! It doesn’t matter whether they are in front of a handful of people or in front of a full house supporting Kerry King, they never disappoint!

KERRY KING hits off the first 2 shows of ‘TO HELL I RISE EUROPEAN TOUR’ in The Netherlands. Last tuesday night they hit the Metropool stage in Enschede Rock City, treating the audience a juicy setlist featuring numerous Slayer songs as well as songs from King’s newest album, From Hell I Rise.

King’s band consists of fellow thrash veterans Death Angel vocalist Mark Osegueda , drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head) and bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah).

The band opened the show with 3 songs from ‘To Hell I Rise’ before diving into the Slayer song ’Repentless’. Fast, ferocious and about as subtle as a sledgehammer smashed to the face. Osegueda sounds like he’s been fed nothing but a salad without dressing for the last few months as he gorges ravenously on King’s jagged riffs.

Hearing comments of Slayer fans after the show, we can conclude that Slayer is Slayer, Satan’s preeminent ambassador that no one can dethrone, but…… Kerry King proved that even without his previous band, he can still reign in Hell.
