After a successful European Tour in 2019 and 2023 and many appearances at major festivals, CARNIVORE A.D. hit the stage of Metropool in Hengelo last Saturday for an unforgettable electrifying performance. Despite the hustle and bustle surrounding the broadcasts of the soccer games and the orange euphoria in town, the venue was well filled with die hard Steele fans. The Dutch team’s qualification for the semi-finals of the European Championship was just the icing on the cake after two great Live performances.

SEVERE MANIA was more than a decent opening act. They served the audience a dose of headcrushing old school thrash metal covers of Metal giants such as Sepultura, Slayer, Exodus, Testament and Sodom. It was a thorough warm-up to prepare the body and mind for what was to come next.

Carnivore is an American crossover thrash band from Brooklyn, New York City. Driven by a deep commitment to continuing the legacy of Carnivore as well as the unforgettable Peter Steele and original guitarist Keith Alexander, CARNIVORE A.D. has revived the repertoire that made Carnivore a hit on stages and festivals worldwide at the time.

Steele’s role is filled by lookalike bassist/vocalist Baron Misuraca (Sheer Terror, Darkside NYC), guitarist Chuck Lenihan (Crumbsuckers) and drummer Joe Cangelosi (Kreator, Massacre, Whiplash). The band was co-founded and fully supported by Carnivore’s original members. These gentlemen interpret the legacy of both Carnivore albums in a more than excellent way.
