Despite an attractive program with a large portion of brutal blackened death metal and grindcore, the venue was not sold out at this year's EHBO party. The economic cisis had cast it's shadow on the ticket sales. Still, the die hards that had come to party enjoyed a full day of good music. Irish newbees Gama Bomb started their touring season on the mainland here and The Rotted from the UK had returned to this festival after 2 years. Playing songs fom their latest CD, they demonstrated how, over the years, this band has developed a massive sound. Frotman Ben McCrow stirred the audience to a vigorous headbanging and received an enthusiastic applause. To many, the Rotted was the main attraction of this show. Necrophobic was the only black metal band here and the show of these Swedes was quite appealing. Oldtimers Napalm Death from the UK need no introduction. They did their grindcore thing and the fans of this style were served well.
There were many more bands on the program, but we skipped the locals this time. Sorry guys, but April 1 is a well known dead line in The Netherlands, which explains our lack of time.
